In 2009, Kevin Piel joined his high school's broadcasting network. He has been gaining experience ever since, including calling and producing games for the Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization of Bowling Green State University while in school.

Kevin received his first big baseball play-by-play break in 2016 when he was named the Communications Assistant and #2 Radio Broadcaster for the Corpus Christi Hooks (the AA-affiliate of the Houston Astros). He would go on to become the Assistant Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Daytona Tortugas (High-A Cincinnati Reds) during the summer of 2017. Piel was a lead MiLB broadcaster for the first time in his career in 2019, serving as the Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations for the Advanced-A Florida Fire Frogs (Atlanta Braves) based out of Kissimmee. He also served as a Communications Intern for the Toledo Mud Hens (Triple-A Detroit Tigers) during the 2022 season.

Kevin spent a year as "the Voice" of D-II Texas A&M-Kingsville, describing the action for all Javelina athletics. He also provided play-by-play commentary and was a PA announcer for Texas A&M-Corpus Christi during his stay in South Texas.

Piel is currently working for Learfield as a Sideline Reporter for football, Studio Host for men's basketball and a Fill-in Announcer on select coaches shows and games at his alma mater. He is also the play-by-play voice for Bowling Green Falcon Hockey home broadcasts through CCHA TV and FloSports.
